About Rokkasho International School:

Rokkasho International School is a small international school located in Rokkasho, Aomori Prefecture in Northern Japan. It is managed by SunFlare Co. Ltd through a commission of the Prefectural Government of Aomori. Student-teacher ratios in the primary section are very low as we cater only to the children of international researchers and technicians, but our preschool section is open also to local Japanese students. We follow the British National Curriculum, whilst taking into consideration the language backgrounds of our students, and place very strong emphasis on literacy. The primary section implements the International Primary Curriculum, and the preschool section the International Early Years Curriculum. The primary section follows the Singapore maths programme.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care is a priority at Rokkasho International School and is a commitment shared by our larger school community.
