Job overview

As a Primary Teacher at Broadbeck Learning Centre you'll get to deliver the kind of education you always wanted to. You’ll have superb leadership, specialist support and state-of-the-art-facilities, allowing you to focus on delivering the National Curriculum to a group of primary and secondary aged pupils in a memorable way. Committed to fulfilling the potential of each and every one of our students, no matter what their educational needs (including emotional and social difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and speech and language communication difficulties), you share our belief that all young people are capable of achieving great things.

This is why we’re only interested in hearing from superb classroom practitioners, who want the potential for leadership development. Those who take the National Curriculum and bring it alive in a way that’s meaningful and engaging to our students. Ideally you’ll have experience of dealing with complex education needs, as you’ll need to connect with our students – understanding what makes them unique and working to make a real difference to their social and emotional development. But none of this fazes you, as it’s what you’re passionate about. And why you’ll fit right in.

Broadbeck exists to empower 14 learners who have been disadvantaged to thrive now and in the future. Our success is driven through our 3 core principles:

· Success for Learners by any means: We design and adapt so that success for young people is non-negotiable.

· Precise Inclusion: We listen to our learners, seeking to understand their journey and any difficulties in their lives that make engagement a challenge.

· Starting at Great: For our learners there is no good enough, we are committed to being exceptional in every respect.

For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. We are a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties, complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. We have a reputation for excellence and of achieving the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re creating life opportunities.

Reward

We know you’re going to do great things. For your hard work and commitment, we want to reward you with a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll receive a competitive salary, teacher’s pension (where applicable) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Kia preferential Affinity Scheme, Merlin Entertainment discounts, Cycle to Work and tax free childcare vouchers. Witherslack covers DBS Enhanced check costs to all new employees.

If you would like to discuss this role please contact Claire Sutton (Acting Head Teacher), on 01274 924666.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
