The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint outstanding Primary Class Teachers (KS1) to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

 

About You

You will be a teacher who is passionate about their profession and seeks continuous improvement. You will have a positive mindset and will always do your very best for students, for parents and for colleagues. You will have strong experience of the UK national curriculum; further experience of international education will be an added advantage.

You will be an excellent communicator who will work well with all members of the community. You will have a strong focus on being the best teacher you can be and will also participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life. You will be responsible for encouraging and developing further our culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success. Keen to collaborate and share your expertise, you will have good interpersonal skills and the ability and confidence to build strong working relationships. The flexibility and open-mindedness required to adapt quickly to a fast-paced international environment are essential.

 

About the Role

There are over 1200 students in our Primary school and a large number of classes and teachers, so collaboration is paramount. Our school follows the English national curriculum with additional aspects to complement our local context. Classroom resources are plentiful, and expectations are high for achievement for all students. Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is essential and is a key part of maximising student progress. Selection Process

Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Head Teacher/Principal.

The closing date for applications is 10th January 2020. First stage interviews will be conducted at the School or via Skype and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education recruitment event in central London on the week commencing 21st January 2020.  Alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person.

The start date is mid-August 2020.

BIS Abu Dhabi is a growing school; we currently serve more than 2000 students from 3 to 18 years old that follow the best in British and international curricula, including the English National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and BTEC (Business).

Students follow the English National Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 11. Students in Years 12 and 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the newly introduced BTEC Business Programme.
