Primary Teacher (SEN).

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive SEN academy, based in Robertsbridge, East Sussex. The academy is looking to add a Primary Teacher to its progressive and supportive primary school ideally starting ASAP.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of primary education and subjects including class teaching and some intervention work. You will support the Head of Primary to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

"This school is a new independent special educational needs school that supports boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 years of age who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.  Their aim is very simple: they want to equip every child with the skills, knowledge and confidence that they need to be successful in their future.

Set in a spacious, site with designated spaces for outdoor learning and large classrooms, the school is newly refurbished and all learning spaces are bright and airy with high specification IT resources. The school has designated therapeutic areas and plenty of space for creative and experiential learning to take place.

The successful candidate will support their teachers working alongside other support staff and therapists, to deliver the curriculum and help nurture a therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs including social, emotional, behavioural, communication and learning difficulties."

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as Diplomas and NVQs, supplemented by ongoing learning opportunities.

• the chance to take on further responsibility in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Education Degree or a related subject

• experience in delivering primary lead education, successfully engaging learners to progress

• Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important

• a love and passion for education.
