FUJAIRAH PRIVATE ACADEMY
Located on the Indian Ocean coast of the United Arab Emirates, 140 kilometres from Dubai, at the foot of the Hajar Mountains. Fujairah has a scenic beauty and wonderful beaches. The school is non-profit, non-selective and caters for 730 students aged 4-18 years. 90 % of these are from Arabic speaking backgrounds with 85 % of them being Emirati. The school was established in 1982 by the government of Fujairah as a non-profit organization. The school follows an adapted National Curriculum and students take GCSE and GCE A levels. Fujairah Private Academy is an accreted member of the Association of British Schools Overseas and British Schools in the Middle East Association.
The school is an accredited member of the British Schools in the Middle East Association and has also been awarded British Schools Overseas status by the Department for Education in England. We offer UK qualified candidates an opportunity to gain the NQT qualification if required.
Applicants require a B.Ed. or first degree plus a PGCE in Primary Education from UK or Australia or New Zealand. They should be experienced in the education of children from 7-11 years and this needs to be highlighted on the CV presented. A minimum of three years’ experience is required. Applicants should be native speakers of English. This is a single unaccompanied position or as part of a married teaching couple.
