Description Part-time Temporary teaching position available (0.2 Executive Release Teacher and 0.2 Lead teacher Release)
Position Requirements • A relevant understanding of the philosophy of Catholic Education
• Must be a practicing Catholic
• Willingness to fulfill the requirements of the Diocesan Faith Education Accreditation Policy
• Ability to teach in the relevant curriculum area/s.
• High level knowledge of the relevant key learning area/s and a proven capacity to improve student learning.
• High quality classroom teaching skills which enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential.
• Exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice and the intellectual, physical and social development of students.
• Ability to successfully implement and evaluate curriculum initiatives in accordance with curriculum and standards framework.
• Demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning.
• Commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the school team.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents and other teachers.
Essential Criteria • Applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Teach Religion and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category D – Accreditation to Teach Religion
• Current NESA and Working With Children number must be recorded on application.
• Be appropriately qualified as a four year trained Primary School Teacher
• Evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. (https://etraining.allergy.org.au/login/index.php) Note: To start or return to working as a teacher in a NSW school, you must be accredited by NESA.
Desirable Criteria • Ability to provide quality teaching and learning experiences in Stage 3.
• Experience and familiarity with new Science and Technology syllabus with a particular focus on digital technologies and STEM elements

About Corpus Christi Primary School

Corpus Christi Primary School is a co-educational, systemic Catholic Primary School, located in the Newcastle suburb of Waratah. The school works in partnership with Holy Trinity Parish, Blackbutt North.

The original school was convened in a house owned by the Dominican Sisters however a 5 classroom school was built in 1934 with a second storey added twenty years later. Major additions were made to the school in2002 and 2010 to the point it now caters comfortably for 180 students.

Curriculum

Curriculum implementation at Corpus Christi Primary School is conducted by a dedicated and committed staff that consistently provides quality and effective teaching and learning experiences, whilst embracing the opportunities that the 21st century provides.
