West Berkshire Council's Education Service is looking to appoint a Principal Adviser for School Improvement.

We are seeking an experienced school improvement professional with a successful track record as an LA adviser and/or Headteacher. The role is wide ranging and will involve both strategic leadership and operational delivery. You will lead a team of cross phase school advisers, governance officers and community learning specialists to oversee provision and ensure the maintenance of good Ofsted ratings in all areas. West Berkshire is a successful authority, with 95% of schools rated Good or better and Community Learning provision which is also rated Good. We work in close positive partnership with all our schools and other learning providers. The Education Service sits within a wider Communities Directorate, which also inclues: Children's and Families, Adult Social Care and Public Health.

We are ambitious for our schools, children and learners, and are seeking someone who shares our desire to deliver outstanding standards and outcomes, including achieving top quartile performance in all Key Stages and closing gaps.

We are flexible and would consider a fixed term secondment or part-time proposal.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immagration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.

A relocation package of up to £3500 may be available.
