After 25 years of distinguished service as Headmaster, Mr Garry Brown OAM has advised the School Council of his intention to retire in mid-2019.

The School Council now invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced educators to take up the position of Principal.

Founded in 1904, Mosman Church of England Preparatory School (“Mosman Prep”) is an independent stand-alone primary school for boys on Sydney’s North Shore. Embracing the Christian ethos, the School offers a fine balance between tradition and innovation with the mission of “Educating for tomorrow, today”.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a well-qualified, experienced and innovative educational leader with a strong Christian faith who is keen to make a major contribution to the continuing development of an outstanding school.

About Mosman Church Of England Preparatory School

Mosman Church of England Preparatory School is an all-boys, independent day school for Kindergarten to Year 6, located in Mosman, NSW, a suburb of Sydney. The school has approximately 300 students, ages 5-13, and 31 teaching staff. 

Mosman Prep, as it is known, was founded in 1904 and is well known as a specialist preparatory school for boys. The school has a low staff to student ratio, and is known for its academic rigour and providing individualised attention to all students.

The school places a high priority on technology, with computers and a wireless internet network throughout the school, and a modern library and resource centre. There is a BYO iPad program for Years 4-6. 

The school has a strong focus on sport also, with an outdoor educational campus located in Terry Hills, NSW, designed to teach outdoor skills and for weekend sports games and training, and a large, well-equipped gymnasium. 

Curriculum

Curriculum is based on the NSW Board of Studies recommendations, focusing on core subjects, with specialist classes on offer in art, music, physical education, library, divinity, and Mandarin language. 

The school also offers the specialised Arrowsmith Program, for students with additional learning needs, as well as a strong Gifted and Talented Program. 

Sports are strongly encouraged at Mosman, with popular sports including sailing, gymnastics, tennis, softball, and hockey. The school hosts yearly carnivals for swimming, cross country, and athletics.
