Principal

Flegg High Ormiston AcademyNorfolk

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Flegg High Ormiston Academy. We have started our search for a Principal to join us in September 2021. The position would be perfect for an existing Principal or an experienced Deputy Headteacher looking to take the next step on their journey.

About our school:

Flegg High Ormiston Academy is a ‘Good’ school as judged by Ofsted in June 2016 and continues to improve rapidly under the excellent leadership of the current Principal combined with the unwavering support of the local governing body and OAT. The students at Flegg High are exceptional and in 2019, in their first year of being an OAT academy, achieved record GCSE results that surpassed the national average results for all the key accountability measures (72% 9-4, 48% 9-5 and 30% 9-5 EBacc).

This is an excellent time to join the vibrant, friendly and caring learning community at Flegg High, which gives students the support to grow and flourish into successful learners and confident young people. We believe that every community member has a right to be happy, safe and successful and are wholly committed to developing young adults who will make a positive difference to the world.

Our ambitious and creative curriculum ensures that all students achieve well and are truly inspired. We place significant emphasis on developing all students socially and emotionally to enable them to make good choices about their education and life, whilst instilling a strong determination to succeed. As an OAT academy Flegg High works tirelessly to break down barriers to learning and to ensure that no student is disadvantaged and that every student is inspired to become a lifelong learner.

With this in mind, we are looking for an exceptional professional to lead our academy; someone who can demonstrate the ability to achieve outstanding outcomes and make a significant and positive difference to the lives of the young people at the academy.

About the role:

As our Principal, you will have direct responsibility for the day to day operation of the school and be instrumental in making a significant difference to the lives of our young people. You will be a strong leader and role model, ensuring sustained exceptional educational provision and high expectations for all pupils at Flegg High. Working closely with the Regional Director, you will create and implement a plan for the strategic direction and development of the school, guiding the academy on its journey to ‘exceptional’. You will benefit from the support of an extremely committed body of staff, a well established regional network of OAT schools locally and unparalleled support from an extremely experienced central Executive Team.

Please find extra detail regarding responsibilities in our Applicant Information Pack.
