North Oxfordshire Academy is a thriving secondary school that sits at the heart of the local community. The academy is part of United Learning, a successful national group of academies and independent schools. Our schools share a mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ and to improve the life chances of the children and young people in their care.

North Oxfordshire Academy is an oversubscribed, six form entry secondary school and sixth form, serving a diverse community in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The academy is known locally for its ethos of aspiration and inclusivity. The school strives to ensure every child has an individual curriculum that allows them to aim high, achieve academically and become well balanced, enquiring and responsible citizens, empowered to make positive change in their community and beyond.

The school offers excellent facilities on a spacious 48 acre site, including extensive playing fields, national standard athletics track and NOA’s Ark, a 50 place pre-school nursery for local families and teachers.

We are ambitious for the future of the school as it continues to go from strength to strength in line with our Framework for Excellence; promoting the best in everyone; powerful knowledge; education with character; leadership in every role; and continuous improvement. This is embedded in every aspect of the school life, in and outside the classroom from Year 7 to 13.

Due to the retirement of Sara Billins following 10 years of outstanding leadership, we are seeking to recruit an exceptional Principal to build on the academy’s strengths, its sustained ‘Good’ Ofsted judgements, and excellent local reputation. This is an opportunity for an experienced headteacher or outstanding deputy head to run a large and thriving 11-18 school, within a national group. United Learning prioritises collaboration, values shared practice and provides high-quality professional development.

As a well-established United Learning secondary academy, North Oxfordshire Academy provides the opportunity for staff at all levels to develop their expertise and be part of a trust-wide commitment to CPD and support. The academy offers excellent professional development opportunities and career progression. Our staff are highly committed, hardworking, and great team players. New staff very quickly become part of the NOA family.

As Principal, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to the school and its community. You will model outstanding leadership and set high expectations for students and staff. Your professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm for education will be evident each and every day, in all that you do.

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging and highly rewarding role within a Group that offers a strong commitment to professional development, and if you have an unshakeable determination to improve the lives of young people, we encourage you to visit us.
