Job overview

We are recruiting for an exceptional talent for Ormiston Meadows Academy, a small primary academy in Peterborough, East of England. The academy has been part of Ormiston Academies Trust since 2014 and provides an education for children aged 4 to 11 years.

Meadows is a very successful, happy and thriving academy that shares a strong sense of community and togetherness. We believe that an excellent education is the passport to a successful future and our staff and pupils work exceptionally hard to achieve the very highest outcomes. The success of Meadows is not due to academic achievement alone and pupils benefit from many enrichment opportunities to develop key skills beyond the core curriculum.

The academy prides itself on its inclusive and welcoming environment which enables all children, regardless of their starting points or challnges, to achieve their very best.  We have an excellent reputation as a highly successful academy and have been placed in the top 10% of primary schools in the country for the progress our pupils make.

The academy’s sponsor, Ormiston Academies Trust, one of the founding trusts of the academies movement, is now seeking an inspiring leader to join our team and continue to build on Meadows many successes.

You:

 Are a highly motivated leader that radiates positivity and passion for educational excellence

 Have the very highest aspirations for pupils and staff

 Are committed to an inclusive ethos that celebrates diversity

 Have the drive and commitment to lead a large and dynamic team

We offer a competitive pay and package including:

 Private healthcare for self and family

 Annual Performance related bonus of up to 10% of base salary

 Extensive CPD opportunities, both at individual academy level and across the OAT family

 School improvement support and guidance from the Director of Primary and SEND and collaboration with our highly respected network of primary senior leaders

If you are an experienced senior leader in a primary setting, with a successful track record of sustained improvement and a determination to maximise the opportunities available then this role offers an excellent and exciting opportunity.

Applicants must be highly motivated, driven and committed to high quality teaching and learning. They should have the creativity and vision to inspire and lead change but also the focus to ensure successful outcomes are achieved. You must be confident and positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude that can inspire and engage pupils, staff, parents/carers and families. Above all, you will share our passion and belief that children, their learning and developing their potential is at the heart of everything we do.

How to apply:

We encourage you to contact us for an informal discussion about this post before you apply, please call Jane Nolan, Director of Primary and SEND on 01472 231659 and select option 2 regarding the position.

About Ormiston Academies Trust

With over 40 schools – currently 32 secondary schools, six primary schools, three alternative provision schools and one special school across five OAT regions, the trust is one of the largest and longest standing trusts in the school system and is guided by our founder, Peter Murray’s belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive.

We provide pupils with the best learning opportunities in every classroom, in every school, every day. We are also committed to the learning and development that takes place outside of the classroom, and the enriching role that schools and education play in children’s lives.

Our schools are located across a diverse range of communities, each with its own unique character, strengths and challenges. OAT believes in the power of collaboration and working as one team across our schools. This collective approach is underpinned by our core values, which sit at the heart of the work across the trust. It is only through a culture of cohesion and shared endeavour, that we will deliver more for children and families.

There is much to be proud of at OAT, but the trust is not complacent and is committed to improving everything it does. Everyone who works at OAT plays a key role in our journey to both develop and deliver our strategy over the next five years.

We look for people who share our belief in the power of education to change lives for young people, and who have the intellectual, interpersonal and operational capabilities required every day to improve education at scale in a national organisation.
