Job overview
‘Believe in me’, and I will believe in you
Meadows School is a non-maintained day and residential special school. It is situated in the town of Southborough, between the historic towns of Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells in Kent, and is part of the Barnardo’s organisation. Providing for young people between the ages of 7 to 19, this co-educational school has the potential to be even better and achieve Outstanding in Education to match it’s Outstanding in Care.
Meadows is now seeking a new Principal to help us make that next leap forward. We are looking for someone who will feel comfortable in a vibrant learning environment with a supportive staff and governing body. Your aspirations for us will include keeping Meadows at the forefront of innovation. To do this job successfully you will need to have an engaging collegiate style, which will encourage all parts of the community to play their full part in the life of the school.
You will ideally be an existing headteacher who understands mental health and social care issues. The ability to adapt is critical, as you will need to lend yourself to an array of activities, including fundraising, being on the national stage when and where necessary, and managing the competing priorities that exist between the school and Barnardo’s. Most of all, by building on the tremendous success that has already been achieved, your amazing talent will take Meadows to new heights and make our motto ‘Believe in Me’ an even greater reality.
