Homewood School & Sixth Form Centre isn’t just another academy – so this isn’t just another management challenge. Based in stunning surroundings in the lovely Weald of Kent, we maintain a full and diverse curriculum and do whatever it takes to give our students the best possible futures.

For our most academic learners, we offer a grammar stream, starting a journey that will gain them entry to their chosen university. Across all abilities, we deliver equally tailored support, backed by a diverse range of courses from the EBacc subjects through to beauty, catering and construction. Every student benefits from a state-of-the-art campus, including a dedicated school farm and theatre, as well as our unique I-College, where year seven to eleven pupils can take ownership of their learning in a truly interactive environment.

A school this remarkable needs a Principal of exceptional vision and imagination. Embodying our progressive ethos, you will inspire our 2,100 students and more than 240 staff to take them to the next level. Building on our strengths in the performing arts, applied learning and the rural environment, you will join the Executive Team of the growing and successful Tenterden Schools Trust – giving you far-reaching influence over education in Kent.

Already a seasoned member of a senior leadership team or a school leader, you will be familiar with developing a large team and capable of enhancing our academic, vocational, careers guidance and extracurricular provisions. What’s more, you will be a high-profile ambassador for the school, demanding outstanding networking and relationship-building skills, and you will be ready to leverage our students’ love of learning to release their full potential. Above all, you will be a true innovator with a holistic view of education – and the passion to make a lasting difference to the life of everyone who studies or works here.

About Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre

Homewood School & Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2,100 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside.

Homewood has excellent facilities for all its students and our specialisms in Performing Arts, Applied Learning and the Rural Dimension underpin our approaches to learning which are designed to raise achievement across the whole student body. We aim to maintain and develop the cultural aspirations of the school community in line with our priorities of “belonging” and “respect” and offer a broad range of curriculum opportunities in all subject areas. This also extends into the local community through partnerships across primary, secondary and higher education sectors as well as non-educational community partners.

Homewood provides a secure and caring learning environment in which all students can flourish and succeed. It is a school renowned for its support for students’ wellbeing. Consideration and respect for each other is central to our work.  We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students and are committed to enabling all to reach for individual excellence.
