Programme Leader in Economics

Due to the external promotion of an existing member of the team, an opportunity has arisen to join Exeter College to teach the thriving subject of Economics A Level. Economics is taught within the Outstanding Faculty of Maths and Science and has recently undergone a period of rapid growth. The Faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and has continued to grow its range of provision with improved Achievement and Value-Added ever since. We are primarily based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre. The Faculty predominantly delivers a range of maths and science courses at Level three including A Levels, BTEC Applied Science, IB science and maths courses and Access to HE. You will be joining an existing experienced, supportive Programme Leader for Economics with a passion for the subject and a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. You will join an extremely supportive and forward-looking Mathematical Sciences team lead by a Curriculum Area Manager and also benefit from extensive support within the Faculty, including a mentor and Tutorial Lead. 

As a Programme Leader you will work with the support of the other existing Programme Leader to carry out teaching and tutorial duties and will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for an aspect of Economics delivery. This role is to primarily deliver Economics content at Level 3 for A Level. 

Experienced teachers or entrants to the profession are invited to apply; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom.

Interviews: Thursday, 11th February 2021. 

Although we are ideally seeking to appoint to a full time permanent post, part time applications will also be considered or those seeking a temporary position to the end of the academic year.
