Programme Manager for 14 -16 Direct Entry Provision

Salary £40,117 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, learner-focused, inspirational individual to take a leading role in an exciting new venture at Barnsley College. The college is introducing Direct Entry provision for 14-16 year olds from September where students who are enrolled will become full-time students at the college. The provision is aimed at young people who are not befitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum.

The Programme Manager will provide effective leadership and line management direction and be responsible for developing outstanding curriculum provision for all learners within the Department. They will work closely with schools and will plan effective recruitment activities and build a strong reputation for the delivery of a high-quality education experience.  The position would suit an experienced and high-performing individual who has experience of management, leading in a curriculum area or an individual who has the ability to develop as an inspirational leader. Applications from staff with experience of working in schools is very much welcomed.

Looking to take the next step into leadership and management, the successful candidate will be learner-focussed, target driven and have a positive, can-do attitude. They will develop and support both learners and staff to achieve their full potential and as a leader they will accept nothing other than ‘outstanding’ outcomes and levels of performance.  

The college is looking for the successful candidate to take up post after Easter/Whit week to take a leading role in setting up the provision including interviewing for staff and working with schools to interview prospective students.
