Job overview

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is one of the world’s leading educational research and development organisations. Originally established in Australia as an independent, not-for-profit, the organisation now has offices in India, Indonesia, UAE and the UK.

ACER UK provides assessment services to schools, works with the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) to provide content for key stage tests, and delivers the Scottish National Standardised Assessments in partnership with SCHOLAR and Twig. Our staff members are highly experienced in educational assessment and reporting, survey design and psychometric analysis; the management and administration of large-scale research projects; and the organisation of seminars, conferences and professional development programmes.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join the ACER UK team. The main responsibility of this position will be the efficient and effective management  and delivery of the school assessment services delivered by ACER in the UK, coupled with the education and development aid projects which are funded by UK or EU donor organisations (such as the European Commission). The position will also play a critical business development role in identifying new opportunities in schools assessment and aid projects.

Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree in education, business management or related field with demonstrated knowledge and experience working in education and development aid projects. As the management of these projects will often require coordinating external stakeholders and internal staff, the ability to manage a diverse group of people to achieve successful outcomes will be critical for this position. The successful incumbent will also have excellent problem-solving skills, experience using technology to introduce efficiencies and innovation, exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage tight timelines. Strong business acumen and business development skills are also essential. Formal training in project management such as PRINCE 2 and a masters (or equivalent) will also be well regarded.

The appointment is an ongoing full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus 17% ACER contribution to pension.

ACER UK office is based in West Hampstead, London. Please note, to be eligible for this position applicants need to have the right to work in the UK.

ACER is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We recognise the value of equity and diversity in the workplace and the significant advantages that a supportive and inclusive culture plays in helping our employees reach their full potential.
