The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham, with a total of 34 schools in the Trust by July 2022. 

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are thirteen schools within the Trust which includes five secondary schools. 

St. Wilfrid’s RC College is an outstanding school with world class status and is seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher to the post of Raising Standards Leader for KS5 English to join us from September 2021. We have a vibrant 6th form taught in a specialist block with healthy numbers of students studying English at post 16. We require an outstanding teacher of English Literature who ideally also has an excellent understanding of English Language to work with the Head of Department to lead KS5 provision. St Wilfrid’s is a popular and heavily oversubscribed school in a beautiful coastal location. We look forward to developing the right candidate further as a part of our large and friendly English Department within our outstanding school.

Salary: L1-L3

Start Date: September 2021

Contract: Whole time, permanent
