Reception Class Teacher - Fixed Term Maternity Cover

Primary – Class Teacher
Our pupils, parents, staff and Governors have established a successful, popular and highly aspirational all through (age 4-16) school. We have sky-high expectations of our children and staff. Working together, we will produce well-rounded, open-minded adults with a zest for learning and life.
Our pupils come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of talents, goals and needs. We will look to you to set appropriate and demanding expectations of every pupil, identify SEN or very able pupils, maintain pace, motivation and consistently challenge in order for all pupils to make the maximum progress.
Our teachers maintain the expected disciplines of punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework. Every day, they use effective questioning, listen to pupils, select appropriate resources and evaluate their own teaching to ensure best practice. They know their children, subjects and specialisms, they know how to set a good example and they know that every child is at the heart of what we do at The Gatwick School.
We are looking to recruit teachers who have as a minimum a degree, QTS or equivalent. You’ll need the academic rigor and life skills to deliver but also to inspire our young minds.
For more information please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification. Should you wish to visit the school, please call us on 01293 538779 and speak to Sonia Mitchinson who can arrange this with you.
The Gatwick School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
