A wonderful opportunity has arisen to teach in one of the top 

Independent Preparatory Schools in the North West.

The position is full-time, initially for one year, from September 2018.

Highfield Priory School is a member of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and salary is above the main Teachers’ Pay Scale.

Highfield Priory Independent Day School (a charitable trust) welcomes boys and girls from 6 months to 11 years. It is located in the North West of England, on the outskirts of Preston, within easy access to the Ribble Valley, Fylde Coast and the Lake District. The school prides itself on its high academic level of achievement and is ranked in the top 30 in the country for its NCT results (as in The Sunday Times). Pupils are supported and guided in their preparation for entrance to the Grammar and Independent school of their choice. 

The curriculum is supported and extended with many specialist teachers and facilities. The children enjoy lessons in our Science Laboratory, Art Studio, ICT Suite, Performing Arts Studio, Sports Hall and on our Astroturf Pitch.  

The school believes in encouraging every child to aim high: to reach his/her full potential in all areas. The successful candidate would be expected to make a valuable contribution to our extensive extra-curricular programme. 

The school is a member of the Independent Schools’ Association and supports a number of regional and national events.

A handwritten letter of application together with the application form is required, containing names and addresses of two referees (one of which must be current employer).
