Job overview

Part-Time Receptionist, three afternoons per week

Maternity cover, fixed-term contract for the academic year 2020/21

We are looking to appoint a flexible and talented Receptionist to support the work of Radnor House. This position is critical as our Receptionists are the first point of contact with members of the public, parents and prospective parents, our students and members of staff.

Applicants should be outgoing and possess a welcoming and warm personality with the ability to put visitors and members of the school community at their ease. In addition, candidates will need to have excellent word and data processing skills, the ability to undertake varied administrative roles with confidence,  a professional telephone manner and the ability to multitask. It would be advantageous if you are familiar with MS Office 365 and iSAMS MIS.

This is a fixed-term, term-time only position but there will be a requirement to work occasional additional days such as Inset and school Open Days. Salary will be subject to negotiation with the successful candidate.

Radnor House is a 9-18, selective, co-educational, independent day school set in historic buildings on the banks of the Thames in Twickenham, just 30 minutes from Central London. We were judged as ‘Excellent’ in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in February 2020.

We offer a competitive salary, with extensive opportunities for CPD and career development.

Radnor House Twickenham is a coeducational day school of 455 pupils aged 11-18 that enjoys a stunning location on the banks of the River Thames.

Our core values of courage, excellence, perseverance and respect permeate everything we do. We create every opportunity for the children to develop teamwork, co-operation and diplomacy, to fine-tune their emotional intelligence, both in the classroom and beyond.

Our pupils thrive in small classes with a strong focus on individual attention. We prefer encouragement to pressure. We stretch, challenge and support every child through inspirational teaching, proactive pastoral care and a wide range of co-curricular activities, including a dynamic and exciting performing arts programme.

A top-quality education and a friendly atmosphere combine to create an exceptional environment with proven outcomes of success, where happy children enjoy a busy, enriched school life supported by an actively involved parent community.

It is easy to reach by public transport with mainline train services to and from Twickenham or Strawberry Hill stations and a plethora of bus services available. All pupils have access to first-rate sporting facilities nearby at Teddington Cricket Club and St Mary’s University. As part of Dukes Education, we enjoy the benefits of close links to several schools in the area and the opportunities of being part of a forward-thinking and dynamic group.
