Good attendance is the single most important factor in helping children succeed at school and build the self-confidence they need to achieve.
Your work will transform the lives of countless individuals as you enable them to reach their potential instead of falling behind. The role is a difficult one which requires the strength and vision and personality to help the most vulnerable, who often do not embrace the help you offer. If you are willing to work tirelessly to help children and never give up on any individual, then you may be the person we need.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the attendance procedures and practices in 8 secondary academies which are located in Wakefield, Barnsley and North Yorkshire. You will play a key role in providing a specialist service to these academies to ensure attendance strategies are effectively implemented.
Candidates must have extensive experience of working within an attendance role and will be expected to address whole year groups and develop and deliver training to Outwood attendance teams across the region. Excellent leadership skills are imperative along with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students and external agencies.
The successful applicant must be self-disciplined and keep up to date with latest guidance and protocols and disseminate this to Principals and other senior leaders within the central region. Please note this position requires driving.
