Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic people for this position with a commencement date to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, as well as issues affecting them
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families
- An ability to liaise between teachers, Indigenous students and their parents/carers and should have a genuine interest in supporting students and their communities.
It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples, as permitted and arguable under Section 25, 104 and 105 of the Qld Anti-Discrimination Act of 1991.
An understanding of an a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education, a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and eligibility for a Suitability Notice will also be required.
