Job overview

We are looking for Graduate Language Assistants or Graduate first language speakers (1x French, German & Spanish) to join our busy boarding and day School from November 2021. Initially this will be a fixed term opportunity until May 2022. 

Working with small groups of pupils, one to one, or supporting in the classroom, Language Assistants play an important role working with teachers and pupils in the Modern Foreign Languages department. Successful applicants will also play an active role within the boarding and co-curricular life of School with accommodation and all meals provided during term time. 

Applicants should be eager to work in education, have a passion for working with young people and bring energy to the role, alongside excellent degree level language skills in one or more of the three languages.

Successful applicants must be committed to safeguarding and will be subject to an enhanced DBS and Child protection checks. We are an equal opportunities employer.

Wellington School is a Church of England denominational, co-educational, day and boarding school in Somerset. As of the most recent inspection, there were 900 pupils on the school roll. The school’s motto is the opening of Psalm 127; ‘If God Be Not With Us, Our Labour is in Vain’. The Senior School teaches pupils between the ages of 11-18. The school also offers preparatory facilities from the ages of 3 onwards. Founded in 1837 as a boys school, Wellington has been fully independent and co-educational since 1978. The 35 acre site is a combination of traditional and more recent architecture. The school operates in both a boarding and day capacity.
