Fixed Term Contract – September 2019 – July 2020
St John’s College is seeking to appoint 6 recent or soon to be Graduates to work within a busy and vibrant Boarding Community. You will live and work at the College for the academic year September 2019 – July 2020. We are seeking Graduates with an interest in the following areas:
• Sports
• MFL
• EAL
• Drama/Music
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting by contributing to the sporting and co-curricular programme of a leading co-educational independent school in the south of England. Enthusiasm, flexibility, the ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to participate fully in a busy and thriving school are essential, as is a sense of humour.
These appointments are initially for one year, but this tenure may be extended by mutual agreement. The post would suit a graduate considering a career in teaching, a number of our previous Graduates have gone on to complete PGCE courses. However, we will also consider those wishing to take “a year out” to gain experience after the rigours of academic life at university.
Accommodation will be provided throughout the duration of the post and meals provided during term time; salary by negotiation.

Welcome to St John’s College, an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 2 – 18, located in the heart of Southsea.

The College was founded in 1908 by a Lasallian community of brothers and established according to the principles of John Baptist De La Salle, the patron saint of teachers. Today, although, we are no longer part of the De la Salle trust, we remain true to our Lasallian values, providing an education based on respect for all, quality relationships and an inclusive, collaborative community.
