Job overview

ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker to assist in the day-to-day care of young people for a forward-thinking residential setting that focuses on therapeutic models. This is a full-time role with a view to go permanent. We are working with a number of settings across Nottingham. If you have experience working with young people or have relevant experience that will lend itself well to this type of role (i.e. elderly care, social work, youth work, etc), then please do get in touch. 


About the role:

  • To support the young people on social and educational activities and to support them in developing their learning and educational aspirations.
  • Support young people in their daily activities such as attending schools, cleaning, shopping, family contact, community activities and holidays. 
  • Full time, role with a view to go permanent. With a clear career path and the opportunity to work in management.
  • A rolling rota based on days on and days off. 
  • An annual salary of £21,000 to £26,000 depending on experience, training or qualifications.
  • The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is experience in a care or support role and a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce or similar.

About you:

  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with children and young people.
  • Be able to deal with sensitive situations and be a positive role model to help build the futures of these young people.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Have previous experience either as a Residential Support Worker or in a similar role, supporting young people or working in a care role.
  • Must have a Level 3 qualification or above in Children and Young People's Workforce (or similar).
