We are looking to appoint an Apprenticeship Reviewer to work with our successful team of Trainer Assessors.  

The post holder will be required to liaise with the Head of Apprenticeships to ensure that there are no waiting lists of prospective learners for: Construction Crafts, Automotive Engineering, Electrical installation, Plumbing and Electronics and any other areas across the provision as required.  

We are looking for candidates with a business-like and customer focused approach to working with employers and stakeholders. It is vital that the successful candidate has an excellent understanding and experience of working with employers.  

We are looking for someone who has experience in undertaking learner/employer reviews and supporting learners to achieve their apprenticeship. To be successful in this role you will be able to provide constructive feedback that supports candidates to improve and offer advice if the standards are not met.  

Suitable candidates will be proficient in using the electronic portfolio systems to plan reviews, to monitor progression of skills/knowledge and competence and track learner progress. You will also be required to undertake health and safety assessments and ensure employer meets Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding requirements.  

The successful candidate will have: 

•Sound understanding of SASA and appropriate apprenticeships framework qualifications.

•Outstanding IT skills including experience of using BKSB and e-portfolios. 

•The ability to adapt quickly and creatively to new initiatives.  

It is key that the successful candidate is organised and can implement tasks and plan schedules to optimise efficiency and productivity. Within this role it is also important to be an imaginative problem solver who continuously improves process and promotes better ways of working.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
