This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful, committed and experienced Sports Department which experiences local, regional and National success across a range of sports.

We have access to amazing on-site facilities, including sports hall, outdoor pitches, two astro turfs and a purpose-built strength and conditioning gym, which is accessible to all students. 

Denstone College has a rich history and tradition in Rugby. We are very proud of the success of our Rugby programme and are looking to appoint an experienced Rugby Coach with the relevant knowledge and expertise to help develop our programme and maintain our reputation as a Nationally recognised Rugby School. Candidates are likely to have had a career in the professional game or have a strong record of coaching in schools/clubs. We have strong links with local clubs and community providers as well as high level sporting organisations. We work closely with Leicester Tigers and other Premiership rugby clubs. 

 The successful candidate will have the ability to extend, challenge and develop our most able performers, as well as possessing the ability to inspire and nurture a love for sport in every pupil in the school. They must have a genuine commitment to driving sports participation, coaching and physical education at all levels (students 4-19 years old).

Working closely with the Director of Rugby, your role will involve:

  • Coaching and running teams
  • Being responsible for a key area of the Rugby programme
  • Delivering Strength and Conditioning
  • Coaching groups in specialised topic areas
  • Being involved in after school and weekend fixtures
  • Being an integral part of the department and wider school community
  • Contributing to the wider games curriculum
  • Coaching across different year groups
  • Candidates who are willing to commit whole heartedly to wider school life will be at a distinct advantage
