Time Commitment:     1 day/week (0.2FTE) with plans in place to move to 2 days per week in 2021

The role

Following the introduction of safeguarding network coordinators in 2019 we are further improving our support for strong safeguarding practice in schools by increasing the commitment to this area.  As such, we are replacing the network coordinators with a single role who will be a part of the RLT Central Team working to support all DSLs in our schools

The role will start at 1 day per week ideally from September 2020.  It is likely that the role will expand from April 2021 or September 2021 to 2 days per week.  This area can be discussed with interested candidates before or at interview.

This new post holder will develop the work of the network coordinators this year, and in line with RLT’s 3 core principles, will work with colleagues in schools to aid continuous improvement of safeguarding culture and provision in schools.  Please see the job description and person specification for more details of the role.

If you are passionate about how safeguarding underpins everything we do in schools and have the necessary experience in this field, then this post is for you.  You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Trust, research, develop and implement best practice in our schools. 

The post holder will work closely with the Chief Executive and with the Education, Operations and HR Teams. Recruiting to this role provides further capacity to enable us to deliver our vision so that working together within the Trust will deliver the best possible experience for our children and staff. 

This is an exciting time for the River Learning Trust. The Trust currently consists of six secondary schools, sixteen primary schools and a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) provider; we have a new Primary School in pre-opening due to open in September 2021 and interest from other schools seeking to join us.

The River Learning Trust is a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) based in Oxfordshire.
