Job overview

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated saxophone/clarinet teacher to start immediately. The successful candidate will work with an array of children within key stage 1 and 2 to teach them how to play the saxophone or clarinet.  The position is part-time: 8:00am-1:00pm. 


Job Summary

The successful candidate will teach several children 1:1 the clarinet or saxophone. They will need to:

Following the guide of the Music teacher to provide a safe and supportive environment for the supported child to learn individually.

While in school, be in charge of maintaining and supervising the use of the equipment specific to child’s needs.

Monitor progress in assimilating new information. Liaise with the Music teacher if opportunities are required for the child to revisit and practise areas of learning, or if they need to be introduced to new learning experiences individually in advance of the class/group.

Ensure that the child has opportunities to develop their skills as an independent learner.

Facilitate between parents, school teachers and the Head of Music working with the child, ensuring there is effective communication and continuity in approach.

Form good relationships with not only the class teacher but all members of staff.
