Starting in the Michelmas/Autumn term, this is a varied role and requires a wide range of skills and knowledge. As well as traditional library tasks, it involves supervising an EPQ group, getting involved with club activities and running an independent research project with the Year 9s. Previous experience of working in a Library is essential, plus a working knowledge of IT and the ability to communicate effectively with young people and help them find resources and use information skills.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (34 weeks p.a.), Monday to Friday, with the requirement to cover two evenings a week until 7.00 pm, although a degree of flexibility may be possible. The salary will be £18-£20k (actual) dependent on qualifications and experience.
