School Caretaker

Due to the continued growth in pupil numbers at the school, we are looking to appoint two additional School Caretakers to support with general site maintenance and site security.

The main duties of the role include:

-  general maintenance tasks as and when required

- upkeep of school grounds including sweeping and litter clearing

- setting up rooms for school events, eg assemblies, parents evenings

- emergency and deep cleaning when required

- taking receipt of deliveries and moving to relevant areas of the school

- some minibus driving required

The ideal candidate will:  

• Be able to carry out minor maintenance and repairs (decorating experience would be an advantage)  
• Have a good level of physical fitness  
• Have excellent people skills  
• Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Other

• Heavy lifting is required (manual handling training will be provided)

• Clean driving licence required and D1 category

Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week - hours negotiable between 7am-7pm

Contract: Permanent

Grade Range: H3-H5 (Scale Point 5-14) – dependent on experience

Salary Range: £19,650 - £23,484 per annum plus £637 Fringe Allowance

Other allowances: 

Annual Leave: 21 days per year (25 after 5 years); + 8 bank holidays and 2 additional statutory days during Christmas closure
