St Columba's Primary School is a Catholic co-educational school for Kindergarten to Year 6 students located in the small town of Berrigan, New South Wales, 690km South-West of Sydney and 280kms North of Melbourne. The school has a population of around 20 students supported by 4 teaching staff.
The school began operating in 1898 under the care of a lay teacher. In 1904 at the request of the local parish priest, five Presentation Sisters from nearby Wagga arrived to become the official school educators.

Facilities
St Columba’s currently has two classrooms, a hall, an office, a staff room and the Nagle Centre. Opened in 2010, the Nagle Centre provides students with the opportunity to participate in art and practical activities in mathematics and science. The newest building in the school was funded by the federal government’s Building the Education Revolution program.
Curriculum
While following the Australian Curriculum, St Columba’s teaches a religious education program provided by the Catholic Diocese of Wagga Wagga. Students study the six key learning areas as prescribed by NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority). These include: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts and Personal Development, as well as Health and Physical Education. Due to the small school size, there are only two vertical classes: Kindergarten to Year 2, and Year 3 to Year 6.
School ethos
St Columba’s Primary School aims to be a place where “a shared commitment to a faith based on Christ as a model, guides all our efforts towards the total development of each student.”
