Part time, 1 day a week

Three (3) year contract

Commencing Term 1 2021

Saint James Yamba, is a primary school focused on all children seeing themselves as having the capacity to impact on their own future and the voice to speak up with empathy and for the common good.

The school’s goal is to walk with the students as they develop authentic understandings of themselves and their world which will carry them beyond the school and into the wider world. In developing these skills, the dedicated staff endeavour to help all children as they nurture respectful and loving relationship with their families, with one another and their community as citizens of the global society, for whom the future is bright.

The role of the School Counsellor is to support and assist school teams to better understand and manage student mental health issues with a view to improving student outcomes. As a School Counsellor, you will be an integral part of a school’s pastoral care support and will work with students, families, school staff and external agencies to maximise educational and wellbeing outcomes for students.
