Position arising from an employee resignation

St Mary's College, Toowoomba | 5-12

Founded in 1899, St Mary’s College has a specialised focus on boys’ education, providing a variety of relevant and modern learning experiences and extra-curricular opportunities. All boys are encouraged to strive for excellence and realise their potential in all areas of their holistic education.

The Role

The School Officer works in collaboration with all college School Officers to provide a range of administrative, receptionist, secretarial support services and financial administration services to the Business Manager, Principal and teaching staff.

This role will see you support the Business Manager to:

  • monitor student attendance, producing absence reports for senior leaders, and liaising with parents/carers to verify student absences
  • provide assistance to student reception, including the provision of first aid where required
  • perform various finance tasks.

Your Experience

  • a relevant tertiary qualification at Certificate level or equivalent in Business or Administrative Management (or a related field) or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • current Senior first aid qualification
  • demonstrated experience providing a range of administrative, receptionist and secretarial support services
  • demonstrated experience in providing financial administration services
  • effective relationship building and influencing skills
  • advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • demonstrated experience working with the Microsoft 365 products
  • demonstrated well developed organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines
  • ability to exercise initiative and flexibility in working in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • current ‘working with children check’ positive notice issued by the Public Safety Business Agency, or a willingness to obtain one
