Applications are invited for the position of School Officer (Learning Support) to work as part of our expert team of educators. The primary responsibility of the position is, but not limited to, working as a support for our students and staff within Learning Support at our College. This role involves a diverse range of professional activities with a focus on providing a high level of support to students plus procedural support for parents and staff. Applicants should have a knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, prior experience with both Office 365 and Apple Environment. The successful applicant will display proven communication and interpersonal skills and a flexible approach. As this is ‘Child related employment’ a Blue card is required. Initially this role is until the end of Term 4 – 2019. The successful applicant will: • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education; • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment. This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.

Assisi Catholic College is a co-educational, non-selective, independent day school that serves students from 4 to 18 years old. Located in Upper Coomera, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Queensland, the school has approximately 1388 enrolled students.

Established in 2005, the school originally operated as pre-primary to Year 3 and Year 8 classes, however has since grown to educate students from pre-primary all the way through to Year 12.

Assisi Catholic College is a contemporary pre-primary to year 12 school located on a spacious and natural campus. Students at the school have access to facilities including the St Mary’s Parish, computer and iPad programmes, sports programmes and the Chiara iCentre, a learning centre. Another key facility on the campus is the La Verna Hospitality Trade Training Centre, which allows students to learn and practice true hospitality skills.

Curriculum

Assisi Catholic College teaches the National Curriculum while also following the Dimensions of Learning theoretical framework. This framework has five dimensions – acquiring and integrating knowledge; positive attitudes and perceptions; using knowledge meaningfully; productive habits and values; and extending and refining knowledge. Senior students are given the option of three pathways one being university, another being vocational education and training; and also a work transition pathway where students can participate in work experience, apprenticeships/traineeships and certificate courses.
