Description To provide support in learning and behaviour management. St Joseph’s College Lochinvar currently offers a Catholic co-education for students from Years 7-11, however, from 2019 will move into full implementation of a 7-12 school structure. St Joseph’s College, founded in 1883 by the Sisters of St Joseph is situated 10 minutes west of Maitland and 40 minutes from Newcastle via the Hunter Expressway.
Position Requirements The applicant must -
• Be willing to support the ethos of the Catholic School
• have well developed computer skills and the ability to use technology for education support
• be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team
• be able to build rapport with students, especially those with high support needs
• under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator be able to contribute to and assist in planning, preparation and implementation of education programs and resources to enhance student support
• be flexible and willing to engage in a variety of strategies to support students with additional needs
Essential Criteria • High level of oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Your current Working With Children number must be recorded on your application as well as Date of Birth.
Desirable Criteria • Experience in implementing individual education plans
• Experience in working with students with additional needs
• Experience in using assistive technology such as OneNote
