Position Purpose

To build the capacity of Catholic school principals and leadership teams to enable more effective and efficient leadership and management of our Catholic Professional Learning Community.


Commencement

The commencement date for this position will be January 2022 or earlier by negotiation with the successful applicant.


Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have proven successful principalship experience, preferably in Catholic Education, and be able to:

• build leadership and school improvement capacity in schools by providing, brokering or commissioning high-quality advice on curriculum, pedagogy and leadership development

• communicate effectively dialogue with principals to support and challenge the development and implementation of school Annual Improvement Plans and strategies

• actively support principals to lead teaching and learning in their schools, address barriers to school improvement, and foster the development of a cohesive teaching and learning culture that is student-centred

• demonstrate a commitment to the vision and mission of Catholic Education

• build on proven experience working in a senior leadership role in education

• drive improvement and innovation in schools in line with contemporary research

• share experience in leading strategic initiatives in teaching and learning (K-12) to enhance student experience and learning outcomes

• ‘C’ class drivers licence.

About Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Armidale

The Catholic Diocese is the second largest Diocese geographically in New South Wales.  It covers most of the New England area as well as parts of the North West region.   Within our boundaries are the major centres of Armidale, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Moree, Narrabri and Inverell and 13 other towns includng Barraba, Boggabri, Glen Innes, Guyra, Manilla, Mungindi, Quirindi, Tenterfield, Uralla, Walcha, Walgett, Warialda and Wee Waa.

There are twenty four schools within the Diocese, including 19 Primary (K-6), 2 Central (K-10) and 3 Secondary schools (7-12) in large and smaller centres. You will find Catholic schools in the major centres of Armidale (primary and secondary options), Tamworth (primary and secondary options), Gunnedah (primary and secondary options), Moree (a central school), Inverell (a central school) and Narrabri (a primary school).
