37 hours per week, plus an additional 42 hours per month to cover out of hours requirements, principally evenings and weekends (see job description for more details)

Due to a promotion within our site team, we are now looking for a Site Assistant at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading.

This role is instrumental in helping with the day-to-day maintenance of the school and to provide evening and weekend support as required to service lettings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing good relationships with the Trust site team and support teams.
  • Helping keep the school looking tidy and presentable.
  • Carrying out minor maintenance work or other tasks as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with the school’s Health & Safety processes.
  • Ensuring that the lettings needs of the school are met.
  • Covering absence or holiday of team members.

Our ideal candidate will: 

  • Have highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Work independently.
  • Have the ability and confidence to use your own initiative.
  • Understand Health and Safety regulations and working practices.
  • Be an honest and hard-working individual.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, students and customers, providing a learning environment that students can take pride in and a safe working environment for colleagues.

About Maiden Erlegh School in Reading

In January 2014, a bid from Maiden Erlegh Trust to the Department for Education to open a new school in the East Reading area was successful. The central proposition of the bid was to open a new school that shared the ethos, culture and values of the well-established Maiden Erlegh School in Earley, Reading, Berkshire.

We proudly opened Maiden Erlegh School in Reading to its first Year 7 students in September 2015.
