Job overview

ABC Teachers are currently looking to recruit a specialist Science Teacher who also has ICT Teaching experience for a role in a Special Educational Needs school located in Hodge Hill, Birmingham. This will be a long term cover role which starts in September.

You will be required to teach key stages 3 & 4 where learning levels will be varied due to some students with Developmental Delay. You will be teaching students up to ELC/GCSE level in Science which will be the main part of the role, along with ICT teaching. The school use both AQA ELC Science and Edexcel Science, along with the use of WJEC Entry Pathways for ICT. In addition, you will manage a form class with a Teaching Assistant present for support. 

Ideally you will have knowledge of deaf awareness; this is advantageous but not essential to the role as there will be a TA or communicator present to work with you to ensure lessons are communicated. 

The Ideal candidate – 

• Will have QTS

• Highly creative and engaging in a classroom setting 

• Knowledge within the education sector and SEN environment

• Passion for supporting the learning of children 

• In date DBS & on the Update Service 

Candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview to register; we will need to gain two references either academic or professional and hold an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure (or be prepared to allow us to process one for you).
