Salary Details: £250 - £450 per day, project based

Are you an outstanding leader of Science? Have you had considerable experience designing curriculum or teacher professional development?  

We are looking for a Science consultant to support on project-based work within the Science Mastery team. 

About the role

The freelance consultants will contribute to the development of curriculum resources and facilitate training in our pilot schools. You will work with us to support teachers in delivering excellent science learning.

You will use current education research and best practice in Ark and other schools to create and design effective science curriculum resources; from lesson resources to teacher training. You will be involved in testing these resources, analysing feedback and developing our support to ensure it is the very best. 

About you 

You are a passionate Science teacher and leader who is committed to educational success for all. You will have experience of successful Science leadership or working in an advisory capacity. You may have experience writing excellent resources to be used across schools. You may have experience designing and leading science teacher professional development.

Importantly, you will recognise that we improve by working with others and listening to feedback and expertise. Learning from our colleagues and research is core to the Science Mastery ethos.

Ark is an education charity that aims to give every child, regardless of their background, the best start in life. We have a network of 37 schools in England, educating around 27,500 pupils in areas where we can make the biggest difference. We also incubate start-up programmes that improve the education system.  

Science Mastery operates as part of the Ark family and as such supports science education across the Ark network. It is a full package of brand-new lesson and assessment resources for secondary science, that are embedded within a CPD suite that supports the delivery of world-class science learning.

The postholder will often have flexibility in terms of working locations and timing but will need to be available for meetings and school visits as required. Travel costs will be covered and we take care to ensure your workload is manageable.
