Job overview

Hugh Christie is a mixed school, rated good by OfSTED in December 2017 and aspiring to become outstanding. We have a reputation for innovation and creativity and believe passionately about providing the best possible education for all our students, making our school “the place to be”.

Due to an expansion of the curriculum for core subjects, we are excited to offer this opportunity for an inspirational and ambitious teacher of Science to join our successful team as a Second in Department. The appointed applicant will join a supportive team, working alongside a well-established and very successful Science department.

You will be passionate about Science and have the drive to be part of a forward-thinking department, focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences. This position would suit an aspiring teacher of Science looking for an opportunity to develop their teaching and learning and leadership skills. Specific responsibilities will include supporting the Assistant Principal for Science in the day-to-day running of the department and the development of the Science curriculum within a particular key stage. Responsibilities will be negotiable and dependent on your interests and experience. The ability to teach A-Level Science is desirable, but not essential.

TLR2 would be available for the successful candidate.
