Information for the candidates

Wanted for the Autumn term a dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate science teacher with the ability to teach your subject to KS4 level.  Ability to teach to KS5 is desirable. Applications are welcomed from NQT’s.

We are looking for a teacher who is committed to the ethos and values of the school, is passionate about making a difference and has the capacity to inspire. The successful candidate will have the ability to:-

• teach science to KS4 and ideally KS5

• be a practitioner who maximises the potential of pupils

• understand the importance of using self-evaluation and performance data to identify and implement effective improvement

• maximise achievement through rigorous monitoring, interventions and review

• be committed to contributing to the wider life of the school. 

Polam Hall is a 4 – 19 co-educational day and boarding school which converted to Free School status in September 2015. It is now part of Woodard Academies Trust and forms part of the Trust’s Northern Hub.

This is a very exciting time at Polam Hall. The school has grown to its current 700 pupils over the last two years and will continue to expand until it reaches a roll of around 880. The school is two form entry into Reception and a third form joins in Y7.

At Polam Hall we aim to build creativity, confidence and compassion in our young people. The vision of the school moving forward is to retain a focus on the individual, on providing opportunities and the holistic development of each child.

Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 790 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase.
