Since becoming an academy in September 2009, Kettering Buccleuch Academy has seen many exciting changes. We are an all-through academy catering for students aged 4-18. We moved into our new, purpose-built building in January 2013. Under recent new leadership, the academy continues to go from strength to strength, with happy and motivated staff, a supportive culture and plenty of opportunities for personal growth with our excellent staff CPD offer. We offer a range of benefits including United Rewards, covering lifestyle and retail benefits including childcare vouchers, a car lease scheme, cycle to work etc., subsidised meals and an on-site gym which is free for all staff to use.

We welcome visits to our school so that you can experience the unique ethos of Kettering Buccleuch Academy for yourself. If you would like to visit the academy, please contact Miss Millsop, PA to the Principal, on 01536 515644 or via email to WendyMillsop@kba.uk

The role

As a result of growing student numbers, we seek a motivated, passionate and committed teacher of Science to join us from September 2019. Keeping your subject exciting, relevant and enjoyable, you’ll create an ambitious, innovative and motivating classroom. You’ll inspire and challenge your students so that they develop into highly effective, independent learners and achieve their individual potential.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful and rapidly improving academy. We are driven by a forward thinking philosophy and a vibrant, positive culture. In a friendly and welcoming school, with supportive colleagues, you’ll be able to make a real impact on our academy and on the lives of the students here. We offer excellent opportunities for professional development to help you further your career and a supportive and friendly environment in which our staff have plenty of opportunity to grow and develop.

About You

You will have Qualified Teacher Status. You’re an inspiring practitioner with a proven track record of success within a secondary school setting.

You are an experienced teacher who consistently teaches good to outstanding lessons, or a less experienced teacher with the potential to be consistently good or outstanding. You will have good interpersonal skills, sound behaviour management skills and have the highest expectations for what our students can achieve.

United Learning

Kettering Buccleuch Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
