The British Schools, a private, coeducational, non-profit and non-denominational day school with approximately 1400 students and more than 250 staff members, is seeking teachers for the start of the 2022 school year. 

The British Schools aims to provide a bilingual education which combines the Uruguayan national curriculum with a strong English language international programme. We are one of the founding members of the IB, authorised for the PYP and Diploma programmes, and a member of LAHC. 

The School offers an exciting academic environment in which all members of the community strive to instil a love of learning and to prepare students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. There is a strong extra-curricular programme, especially in sport and the arts. 

We are seeking teachers for the following positions:

Secondary Science 

For Science, it is essential that the applicant can teach more than one discipline in IGCSE and IB Diploma level. 

Applications from teaching couples would be very welcome.  

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills required:

  • A first degree and/or teaching qualification.  
  • Ideally, experience with the IB Diploma, IGCSE programmes.
  • Experience and desire to seek innovative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.  
  • Fluent English.
  • Interest in developing the use of IT in classroom teaching.
