An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our science team as a Science Technician. This is a fantastic time to join a supportive, forward-thinking and successful Academy.

Biddick Academy is a good school (Ofsted, 2021) conveniently situated 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle and Durham. The Academy enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community and is consistently oversubscribed year-on-year. We are seeking to appoint a colleague who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide. Our curriculum is founded on the core values of resilience, curiosity, aspiration, and readiness.

We're looking for candidates committed to ensuring every student receives first rate teaching and learning. You will be passionate about STEM, with a background in science, solid health and safety knowledge, and experience of working with and building rapport with young people. Strong skills, initiative, flexibility and patience will be required to succeed in this role.

Biddick Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Washington, near Sunderland, for students aged 11-16. 

In 1997, Biddick was one of the first 11 schools in England to become a specialist sports college. The academy’s facilities include a sports hall, a dance studio, a fitness suite, a gymnasium, a full-size 3G pitch, floodlit tennis courts, a theatre and ICT suites.
