Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Second in Mathematics to join a School based in Kent.

The School

The School is a rapidly-improving, non-selective 11-18 school located in Broadstairs, Kent. They have a vision and a determination to provide their community with an excellent school and they are making great strides towards this. Their results in 2022 identify them as the most improved school in Kent (out of 101 secondary schools) and one of the most improved schools in the country.

To work here is to embrace the challenges of an economically-diverse community and understand the influence education has in addressing social immobility. There are few schools in the country where a teacher’s ability to change lives is so evident. Without hyperbole, this is a career-defining mission. They're looking for brilliant people to join them on their journey.

The School has excellent facilities. All rooms are equipped with state-of-the art electronic interactive whiteboards. There are excellent specialist facilities for sport, hospitality, engineering, dance, drama, music and art. They have a Specialist Resource Provision for visually-impaired children. They offer and value a broad curriculum aimed at promoting talent beyond traditional academic subjects. Their significant investment in professional development drives colleagues’ continuous improvement. This is a place where everyone improves regardless of their career stage.

The School is part of Barton Court Academy Trust, a small, ambitious Trust which also comprises a high achieving grammar school, Barton Court Grammar School and Barton Manor School, a new non-selective school which opened in September 2022.

The Post

A highly qualified Second in Mathematics assigned to a Key Stage is required to start in September 2023. This offers an excellent opportunity to work in a forward-thinking department with supportive colleagues and would suit an enthusiastic candidate who is looking to broaden their expertise. The School offers excellence in professional development and is looking for an individual who can deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
