Job overview

ABC Teachers are experiencing unprecedented demand for secondary school cover supervisors.  I am urgently seeking graduates with secondary school classroom experience who are willing to work in a variety of schools across Stoke-0n-Trent on a supply basis.

What are the schools looking for?

ABC teachers have been asked to recruit enthusiastic and organised Cover Supervisors for a number of schools in Stoke-On-Trent. Do you have a degree or level 3 qualification and recent experience of working with groups of young people aged 11-16? Are you looking to get into teaching? Are you hard working and confident with excellent behaviour management skills? If you answered yes to these questions then apply today!

What is a cover supervisor?

The role of a cover supervisor is different every day; you will be given pre-set lesson plans and will have to deliver those to a class of 20-30 students. The subjects you can cover will also vary from day to day, one day it could be PE all day, the next it could be science, maths and history! You will not be expected to plan any lessons. How often you work is up to you, all of our current cover supervisors are working everyday they are free.

Why should you join ABC Teachers?

ABC Teachers pay competitive rates, we make sure our cover supervisors are happy, and that your pay reflects your experience. ABC Teachers provides a dedicated and professional consultant who works hard on your behalf to find the work that you are looking for. Professional development and a DBS at no charge to yourself are offered once you have registered with us (DBS refunded once you have worked 1 day).

ABC Teachers have been well established for 10 years, and have brilliant relationships and understanding of schools within the Staffordshire area.

In addition we are the ONLY Midlands based education recruitment agency to be part of the TES (Times Education Supplement) group which naturally brings in plenty more opportunities that wouldn’t be available anywhere else.

What to do next:

To be considered for this position you will be required to attend a face to face registration and hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce. You will need to pay for this upfront, but once you are fully registered, have uploaded this onto the Update Service and have worked 1 full day with us then we will reimburse you the cost. At the registration we will discuss in more detail the work that you are looking for, your experience to date, and also how we are going to work best for you.

We will need to gain academic references to cover the last 12 months, one of which must be a school based reference. Our compliance team have a rigorous safeguarding and clearance process and this is how we know we are working with the best possible team of staff to employ in our schools.

Click to apply today! Or contact Scott by sending your CV to: sdaly@abc-teachers.co.uk or call 01543 410500 to discuss registering with us further.

Once you are fully cleared for work then you will be contacted by your consultant who will be able to tell you more about the roles currently available and what may be suitable to yourself. Each of our consultants covers their own individual areas across from the Midlands and across Staffordshire. We also have a second office in Loughborough where they cover the East Midlands also.
