Oryx International School is owned by Qatar Airways and operated by Orbital Education for the children of Qatar Airways employees. The school opened its doors in 2016 and is now relocating to Barwa City where a purpose built, state of the art school is being constructed.

The Job

Secondary Design and Technology – (Resistant Materials) Teacher

As we move to our new campus at Barwa City we are looking for applications from enthusiastic, hard-working and talented teachers who wish to develop their teaching career in an international setting. If successful, you would be joining a very supportive committed group of professionals with a mix of young and more experienced teachers. You will be working in a five star environment in a brand new, purpose built, and state of the art school.

Our classrooms are active and our students participate in their learning. Teachers look to provide many opportunities for speaking within lessons as many of our students do not have English as a mother tongue.  Experience of teaching in a similar context  will be an advantage. 

The successful candidate will show a passion for teaching and learning and be committed to achieving the very best outcomes for our students. You will be required to teach throughout the age and ability range, across the full range of the Design and Technology curriculum  up to IGCSE.  Experience in delivering an 'A' Level programme will be an advantage as will the ability to provide professional development for Primary School teachers.  Candidates with sufficient skills, vision and commitment will have the opportunity to lead and develop the department over the coming years.

The department will be fully equipped to provide full opportunities for students in Resistant Materials , Food Technology and STEM Robotics.

KS3 teachers will also be expected to take on the role of form tutor in the first instance and the ability to offer more than one subject will be a distinct advantage

Oryx International School is a unique project conceptualised by Qatar Airways and Orbital Education, creating a joint venture between a world-renowned, multi-billion dollar turnover airline and a prestigious group of international schools.
