St Patrick’s College embraces its motto of ‘Seek Christ’ and Mercy College embraces its motto of ‘Serve Christ’. This is demonstrated in the teaching and learning at both Colleges. With a combined current enrolment of approximately 1,500 students, both colleges are catholic private schools catering exclusively for Years 7 to 10 at Mercy College and Years 11 to 12 at St Patrick’s College.

Mackay, Queensland is located 970 kilometres north of Brisbane with a population of over 125,000. Mackay is known as the sugar capital of Australia and for our beautiful beaches and close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands.

What we are looking for:

Applications are invited for this full-time teaching position and may require working across St Patrick’s College and Mercy College campuses, for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

The ability to teach any or a combination of the following secondary subjects would be advantageous: 

  • Science
     
  • Cert III in Aviation
     
  • Humanities
     
  • Mathematics
     
  • Religious Education
     
  • Information Communication Technology (ICT)
     
  • Manual Arts (Industrial Design and Technology)

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • ability to teach across a variety of subject areas
     
  • a commitment to the extra-curricular activities of the College

Mandatory Requirements

 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
     
  • Australian work rights
