Jumeira Baccalaureate School require an experienced Secondary  Inclusion Coordinator  to join their established school from August 2022. 

Job Purpose: To support in developing an inclusive learning environment by monitoring and supporting both teachers and students.

Reports to: Assistant Head of School: Inclusion and Wellbeing

Liaison with: Head of inclusion, SENCO, Subject Leaders, Teachers, Learning Support Assistants, Individual Learning Support assistants, parents, students and outside agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • To promote and follow the guidelines of the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework (2017) and to understand all expectations and implement procedures according to the Inclusion policy.
  • Championing an inclusive culture across the school community.
  • To oversee the provision and support across secondary for both SEND and EAL in collaboration with the Secondary Assistant Inclusion Coordinator.
  • To build strong relationships with students and their families that is based upon trust, communication, and empathy.
  • To run interventions and support students to ensure that they are able to access the curriculum at all levels.
  • To monitor and maintain SEND and EAL registers, Pupil Passports (IEPs) and complete documentation for assessment accommodations.
  • Supporting teachers to provide quality teaching and learning experiences leading to students making outstanding progress academically and personally.
  • Supporting all stakeholders (teachers, parents, admissions) in the identification of students with additional needs including those with SEND.
  • Monitoring the progress of all students on the Inclusion register in conjunction with the class teachers, middle leaders and senior leaders. 
  • Liaising with teachers, parents and external professionals to ensure support is effective through a well-communicated, consistent and triangulated approach.
  • To develop teacher understanding of differentiation and ensure they understand the graduated response to support.
  • To support colleagues in using targeted, evidence-based interventions/provisions to accelerate learning, progress and development.
  • To support the Head of Inclusion and Senior leadership team to monitor the quality of provision and outcomes of students who experience barriers to their learning due to SEND and/or EAL needs through regular learning walks, provision mapping, observations, and evaluation processes,

Qualifications/Training:

  • Holds a teaching qualification - Essential
  • Qualified to Masters level - Desirable
  • Holds additional SEND qualifications e.g SENCO qualification, ASDAN - Desirable
  • Experience of teaching IB -Desirable

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Proven track record with at least two years’ experience in a similar role - Essential
  • Proven record of effectiveness & success - Essential
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curricula to engage children and enable them to perform highly - Essential
  • Excellent and appropriate relationships with young people - Essential
  • Working in partnership with parents - Essential
  • Experience of Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework - Essential
  • Experience of teaching students with specific learning difficulties (SpLD), Autism and ADHD - Essential
  • Experience of supporting students with social and emotional difficulties - Essential
  • Proficiency in SEND paperwork such as IEPs and progress tracking - Essential
  • Relevant and up-to-date training in SEND areas - Essential
  • Experience of collaborating and communicating with a range of stakeholders including
  • parents - Essential
  • Experience of liaising with external agencies including educational psychologists, medical professionals, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists - Desirable
  • Experience of supporting exam access arrangements - Essential
  • Proven record of effectiveness & success - Essential
  • Excellent and appropriate relationships with young people -  Essential
